  • Not remembering time or place – the concept of time and location become difficult

  • Understanding a conversation – both writing and spoken
  • Losing things – misplacing items around the house and potentially accusing others of stealing them
  • Poor judgement – beware the telemarketer!
  • Isolation – not wanting to be involved with others

Peace-of-Mind

The safety and security of our memory care residents is a top priority at Anthem Lakes. That’s why we have attentive, friendly staff onsite 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Our nursing staff is available to assist with medication and provides a level of support not often seen in other communities.

Managing the Meds and Diet of Memory Care for Quality-of-Life

Alzheimer’s sufferers are often prescribed Cholinesterase inhibitors or Memantine to slow the progression of the disease. Alzheimer’s destroys braincells and these medications lessen and sometimes temporarily stabilize the progression of the disease by strengthening the chemicals that send messages throughout the brain. Correct, timely medication administration and observation of effectiveness is key to quality-of-life. Our memory care staff is specially trained to support the current and evolving needs of our cognitively-impaired residents.

Medications that memory care residents take can have side effects such as nausea and loss of appetite. Our chef is keenly aware of this and works very hard at providing nutritious, visually attractive, tasty meals that appeal to our dementia care residents and are compatible with prescribed medications.

Anthem Lakes has a preferred pharmacy partner that delivers prescriptions in individual packaging based on dosing and time of day to provide safe, accurate medicine tracking.

Protected

Security and quality-of-life are concerns for the community, our residents and family members. Creekside is a controlled-access building in a natural setting. The location does not have exposure to busy streets found in some communities. The 14-acre, park setting with ponds, a lake and wildlife is serene and calming.

Where electrical power is a concern, we have a standby generator should emergency power ever be needed.

Easy Living

Our memory care residents enjoy most of the same amenities as our other services levels. These include:

  • Linen services
  • Housekeeping
  • Flat screen TV in every apartment
  • Cable subscription
  • Wireless Internet
  • Three nutritious and delicious meals per day
  • Transportation to appointments
  • Spa and salon services
  • Medication consolidation and delivery
